… As
Nigerian Idol kicks off Top 30 rounds.
The legacy
and memories of the Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuit surely lives on.
Afrobeat
performer and protégé of Fela, Dede Mabiaku brought back the legacy of the late
Fela during the recording of the first group of Top 30 contestants of Nigerian
Idol Season 4.
Dressed in
a black t-shirt that had a painted picture of Fela Kuti in front with the
legendary Fela pose and an inscription behind saying ‘United We Stand’ Dede
said, “Fela influenced who I am today greatly, so though he is no more in body,
he constantly remains in my heart.”
Dede is a
judge on the on-going season of Nigerian Idol alongside Multi-talented
entertainer and King of R&B, Darey Art-Alade and German-Nigerian hip
hop/soul singer, Nneka Egbuna.
