2Face Locks Down Makurdi with Surprise Duet with International Superstar Bridget Kelly of Roc Nation

-Tiwa Savage Gives Emotional Tribute to Zara Gretti
-Wande Coal Reveals Snippet of New Single: Baby Hello

2Face’s scintillating performance with international singer Bridget Kelly of Roc Nation will go down as one of his most stunning duets ever as the two made a fitting complement on stage while they performed, Let Somebody Love You, off the music legend’s forthcoming album, Ascension.

The picturesque city of Makurdi came alive as thousands of music fans trooped to IBB Square Makurdi to attend the second stage of Star Music Trek 2014 and witness dazzling performances from sensational artistes on the bill: 2Face, M.I, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Timaya as well as a host of other home grown talents.

The event, compered by Gbenga Adeyinka, started on an exceptionally high note with the affable host infusing his unique combination of music and comedy and spurring the crowd on, time and again.

Guest appearances from Dammy Krane, Efa and RockSteady immediately kicked up momentum with the guests singing along enthusiastically. One lucky guest, Rita, who danced superbly, was the lucky winner of Dammy Kranes’ gold encrusted watch.

Their performance paved way for Timaya, preceded by his sinuous dancers dressed in well-cut police officers ‘outfits’. Their synchronized routine ended with the four dancers revealing the name of his hit song Ukwu on their shorts before the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa stormed the stage for his performance. As usual, he eschewed a pair of shoes for a pair of short white socks. And even that did not stay on long as he danced through the latter part of his performance barefoot.  While the audience repeatedly demanded for the song Ukwu, he also ensured to play other hits such as Plantain BoyEkoloma Demba as well.

Did Wande Coal ‘rev’ the highly excited audience? Yes, he certainly did. Especially when he dropped a snippet of his new song Baby Hello to the delight of guests. It was glaring though that the audience still wanted some of his old songs with the artiste happily obliging them with exciting medley of songs such as You BadBumper to Bumper and more.

As the only female entertainer in the star studded line up, Tiwa Savage, had the mesmerized attention of the audience and ensured she kept it till she strutted off the stage with her dancers. From Love Eminado, more, and Me, Tiwa commanded the attention of the largely male dominated audience with her sensuous dance steps and minuscule black ensemble.

Missing You, her tribute to the late singer Zara Gretti brought the audience to its feet and tears to their eyes as she sang.

Mister Incredible’s hoarse voice (perhaps from strenuous studio rehearsals??) didn't stop him from giving guests a show to remember as he engaged various members of the audience throughout his performance.

His staples Anoti, Chairman, One Naira, kept the party on a high note right through the early hours of the morning.

He keeps switching up his stagecraft and the combination of skill full back up singers, precise choreography and hard hitting lyrics have ensured that 2Face’s performances are always a sight to behold and a delight to watch. His dancer’s pre performance skit on the elevated darkened stage, with colorful costumes and appropriate stage props, artistically depicted the vicissitudes of war and the necessity of peace and harmony and was a fitting intro to his hit song, One Love and the rousing welcome of cheering music fans.

It really didn't matter what song 2Face played -Implication, Odiaye etc, the audience was fine with it and his sensuous duet with international artiste, Bridget Kelly, of Roc Nation on the song Let Somebody Love You, off his forthcoming album, was met with rousing applause.

A pre gig party to herald the Star Music Trek concert also held on April 4th at Pages Bar Makurdi with special guest artiste, 2face appearing to stunned and jubilating fans.

2face took out time to present a gift prize of an LCD TV, from the raffle draw, which also held at the pre gig party to a lucky winner.

On Saturday April 12 2014 The Trek moves on to Ibom Hall Ground. Uyo for the third concert in its exciting 10 week 10 city line up.
