… As BET Plays Host To Davido, Ice Prince on BET Media Day
The upbeat event, which was held at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos, saw media treated to a luxurious breakfast as they mingled with the BET awards returnees as well as VIMN Africa’s Colette Otusheso, and many others.
Talking during the media chat, Davido said, “When I was hanging out with the other nominees before the awards in LA, I never thought I would win because I have worked with almost everyone on that nomination list, and they are amazing artists. The African category of the Best International Act was a tough one so when I was announced as the winner, I was absolutely stunned and elated!”
A congratulatory Ice Prince also commented on Davido’s win. “I was really excited when I heard them call Davido’s name… he is a really talented artist and it’s encouraging to see African artists being recognized for their hard work.”
Other talent nominated for the Best International Act – Africa at the BET Award 2014 included Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, Mafikizolo from South Africa, Sarkodie from Ghana, Toofan from Togo and Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage.
The “BET Awards” 2014 took place on Sunday 29 June at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. The 2014 BET Awards premiered on TV across Africa on BET International on 1 July.
