The Anambra state government recently played host to the 14 contestants that would be competing in this year’s Gulder Ultimate Search, as well as officials of Nigerian Breweries, producers of the show.
Three of the past ten champions are from Anambra, and this year there are 3 contestants who are also from Anambra- Emedike Ikenna, Nwagbahiro Sandra and Ubachukwu Chinedu.
The contestants and the delegates were received by the executive governor, Chief Willie Obiano, the Commissioner for Information, Chief Tony Onyima, and Special Adviser, Bob Manuel Udokwu, who incidentally was once Anchorman for past editions of Gulder Ultimate Search
"I consider what Gulder does to be important because it strikes with one of my enablers, which is tourism." Chief Obiano remarked.
Leading the team from Nigerian Breweries, the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries, Kufre Ekanem, formally introduced the Marketing Manager, Gulder, Life and Legend, Emmanuel Agu, Corporate Media and Brand PR Manager, Edem Vindah, Snr. Brand Manager, Onyeka Okoli, and Brand Manager, Seun Lawal.
Also present was the newly revealed Anchor Man, Chidi Mokeme, and Michael Nwanchukwu, Ultimate Champion ’08 and also from Anambra.
The governor was very interested in why Gulder Ultimate Search was always set in the jungle, to which the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Kufre Ekanem, explained that the term ‘jungle’ was usually not used literally.
"Real men are not discovered in the absence of obstacles’ he said, 'when we say jungle, it's not just the typical jungle, but about contending with yourself, contending with others, contending with nature, to come out and say indeed, I qualify to be called the Ultimate.'
There was also a formal presentation of the newly redesigned Gulder bottle, which was revealed to the public on the 6th September, and the delegates were treated to a stately feast at the lodge.
The show is billed to air from the 3rd of October on the following channels: Africa Magic World, Real –Stars, Minaj TV Obosi , AIT Network, Ebony Life TV, Galaxy Lagos, Ibadan & Ondo, Hip TV, Nigezie, and WapTV
