On August 9th, 2017, a delegate of students from two
of the world’s top ranked institutions, The
John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and The
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) paid a courtesy visit to the
headquarters of Access Bank Plc. The trip was organized as part of the group’s
activities aimed at providing knowledge about urban development and innovation,
democratic governance and emerging trends in the public policies of Lagos and
Nigeria.
The delegates were welcomed by a team, which included Access
Bank GMD/CEO Dr. Herbert Wigwe, alongside students from the University of
Lagos. During the interactive session, Mr. Wigwe spoke on Access Bank’s
internationally recognized achievements and the Bank’s drive for sustainable
banking and financial inclusion, through innovation, gender and youth
empowerment in Nigeria.
In a related development, National Economics Student Association
(NESA) at the University of Lagos awarded Access Bank the most supportive
organization at their 2017 Dinner & Awards ceremony.
