Star quest 2008 winners, Diamondz released their first album ‘Omo Naija’ on October 1, 2009.
The six man band which consists of Anthony Nwanne Iwediunor, Ifiok Effanga, Ajumoke Nwaeze, Blessed Edewor, Temitope Ogulowo and Ebenezer Ofili showed that they were off to a great start with the release of their first video ‘Bo sokoto’ which featured Fuji icon Obesere.
With ‘Omo Naija’, The Diamondz not only deliver an album with remarkable energy enthusiasm and promise, but they also creatively bring to the table interesting collaborations with Kelly Hansome, Nasty and Obesere.
The group since being crowned winners at the 2008 edition of music reality contest Star Quest has performed in 13 states during the 2009 Star Trek; they also performed alongside Nas and Nelly at the 2008 edition of Star Mega jam and at Kennis Easter Fiesta early this year.
A 12 tracker “Omo Naija” will was released on the Kennis Music imprint. Kennis is Nigerian’s foremost record label and is also home to KSB, Jaywon, Essence and Kelly Hansome with an unprecedented track record of hits and bestsellers.
