chart toppers, Aloe Blacc and American Authors will amp up the stage at the
ultimate kids’ celebration, Nickelodeon’s
27th
Annual Kids’ Choice Awards as heavy
campaigns are going down on social media for the first ever Nigerian category
at the awards.
The awards,
which will take place on Saturday, 29 March in LA, will premiere across Africa
on Nickelodeon (DStv Channel 305) on
Wednesday 2 April 2014 at 5PM CAT.
Nominations
are getting tough by the minute for Nigerian nominees, Toolz of Beat FM, Toke
Makinwa of Rhythm FM, Freeze of Cool FM and Wana Wana of Inspiration FM on the
Favourite On Air Personality catergory at the 2014 KCAs.
The OAPs who
have kicked off conversations with fans on social media are on the race to win
the first ever Nigerian category at the prestigious kiddies awards.
Fans can still cast their votes for their favourite Nigerian nominee
and other categories by visiting the official Nickelodeon webisite, www.nickelodeonafrica.com or on www.facebook.com/ nickelodeonafrica, or send a tweet to @nickafrica with the hashtag #KCA, followed by the voting hashtag of
the relevant personality: #VoteToke, #VoteFreeze, #VoteWanaWana, or
#VoteToolz. eg: #KCA #VoteToke.
Kids can also cast their votes for the 22 categories
across all of Nickelodeon's digital outlets, including www.nickelodeonafrica.com, Nickelodeon’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.
Performing a
medley of his hit songs, “Wake Me Up” and “The Man”, Blacc will join host Mark
Wahlberg, along with American Authors who will perform their top single, “Best
Day of My Life”.

The
2014 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards will be
seen in more than 375 million households around the world and in more than 25
languages. In 2014 for the first time, the 2014 KCAs features country-specific
award categories and nominees from the African continent: Favourite On Air
Personality (Nigeria) and Favourite Radio DJ (South Africa).
Voting for
the 2014 KCAs will span six continents across 17 localized voting sites, giving
kids practically everywhere the chance to decide who takes home a coveted
blimp.
