Lagos State Chapter, the flagship branch of the Nigerian
Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is set to achieve collective intelligence
to equip and capacitate communicators in corporate and public affairs including
bloggers with high-level digital media strategies, tactics and how-to’s so they
can do their jobs better and lift their social media campaign results at Lagos
Digital PR Summit holding at the Nigerian Institute of Management, 22,
Idowu Taylor, Victoria Island, Lagos between Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th,
October 2016 by 9am.
The Lagos Digital PR Summit, first of its king
in Sub Saharan Africa, with the theme: New
Media: Public Relations Practice in Networked Communities, is in partnership
with Google, Microsoft, TrendWatching, Simon Page School of Marketing and
leading digital marketing communications firms in Africa.

Speaking on the Summit, Chairman, Lagos State
Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Olusegun McMedal said, “The two-day
experiential Summit is targeted at Generation
X and Millennials from diverse sectors who will converge to learn new
insights about digital public relations in a technologically driven world.
Presenters at the Summit will share practical knowledge on deploying,
integrating and using social media Apps and tools to connect, inform, engage
and evaluate campaigns in line with specific business goals”.
He added that the Summit aims to familiarise communication
practitioners with ever changing Social media landscape and preparing them to
change with it, exploring and expanding their reach and tie digital
communications efforts back to the bottom line. According to him, Social media,
when used correctly, can be an executive marketing tool, a global media for PR practice
and a resource to garner consumer and competitor intelligence.
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations
(NIPR) is the umbrella body of professional Public Relations practitioners
chartered to regulate as well as direct its development and the practice. It
has Chapters in the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital
Territory.
