Tripple Treat! Wizkid, Olamide, Davido Dedicate Star Music Trek Concert to Fans in Benin

The scintillating eighth edition of Nigeria’s favourite concert, Star Music Trek, was everything promised and more as superstar artistes Wizkid, Olamide, Davido, Dr Sid and KCee pulled out all stops to ensure that fans left the Ogbe Stadium Benin with an unforgettable experience.

The immensely popular concert, amidst heightened expectation, drew thousands of fans to the venue on May 17th 2014 and recorded a massive turnout unprecedented in any concert of its type in the city in recent times.

Numerous talented home grown artistes lit up the Star Music Trek stage displaying their vocal prowess in different genres, leaving guests in awe, prompting  the fans and host to declare emphatically “Benin Rocks”.

Irrepressible host, Do2dtun, kept strictly to his motto through out the event “Have fun!” thrilling the audience who were excitedly screaming for their favourite stars well before the first headline artiste Dr Sid stepped on stage.

Dr Sid’s boundless energy spurred his legion of fans who enthusiastically strained against the barricades repeatedly hoping for a handshake or even selfie with the Dorobucci star. In deference to his fans, the artiste played top favourites , Afefe, Surulere, Lady Don DadaDorobucci and more setting the momentum that succeeding artistes tried hard to best.

The electrifying duo of KCee and Harrysong spiced up the night with everything they had going for them: their unique outfits, dominating stage presence, dance steps and performed pulsating songs, Bulienu Jesus, Pull Over, Limpopo, Akuna Matata and other hits.

Fans also received generous prizes from the artiste,KCee, who is well known for his largesse on stage.

Dancing energetically from one spectrum of the elevated stage to the other, MAMA 2014 nominee, Davido stormed the concert with his OBO crew. The artiste, who performed for the first time on The Trek and the second time in Benin, was evidently excited to be on stage and mesmerised the fans with his stagecraft and popular songs. Of special note was his latest single, ‘Aye’ which immediately threw fans into vigorous dancing with extended calls to the singer for more songs.

The Voice of the Street, Olamide’s  Ilefo IluminatiFirst of All, Voice of the Street, Durosoke  were some of the many songs the rap star performed that ensured that fans stayed on their feet singing along. Caught up in the excitement, many guests were seen displaying their dance skills excitedly.

Wizkid’s spectacular performance, his first on The Trek, was eagerly awaited by fans. And the pop star did not disappoint them. The popular performer who has been nominated forBest Male and Best Collaboration at MAMA 2014 was at his best as he stunned fans with an exciting medley of his award winning songs, Caro, Jaiye Jaiye, On Top Your Matter and more.

Wixzkid who has had an astronomical rise in the music industry was supremely confident as he took over the stage, belting out songs in quick succession and eventually bowing out to resounding cheers from delighted fans.

Play House Bar hosted The Trek gig in Okhoro, Benin City on May 16 and attracted excited consumers from the nooks and crannies of the city.

With sensational activities, such as dance competitions and raffle draws lined up to spice up the evening, guests had a splendid time in preparation for The Trek holding the night after at Ogbe Stadium.

Happy consumers also carted away fantastic prizes such as home theatres, headphones, branded rugs and much more.

On Saturday May 24, 2014 Ado Ekiti will host the 9th stage of Star Music Trek at Melting Point Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The exciting 10 week-10 city pan Nigerian tour culminates in a grand finale in Lagos at Jalisco Open Field, Oshodi on May 31st 2014.
