These days, it’ll be very difficult to catch rapper OD wearing oversize T-Shirts and baggy jeans. The X3M music act, who’s working on his second album, is redefining the dress code for the Nigerian emcee: Blazers on boot-cut jeans; three-piece suit; slim ties and 100% cotton shirts.
And that’s just one of the many things changing about the talented rapper. Since pitching his tent with X3M music, the ex-Paybacktyme records act has made it clear that his time in the underground is over; and he’s now ‘‘ready’’ to hug the limelight.
Unreleased cuts made available shows a fresh direction OD fans will find surprising: expanded theme; less rapid delivery, unusual collaborations and cross-over backing music.
The idea, according to the rapper, is to appeal to not just hardcore rap fans, but ‘‘everyone on thee surface of the earth who loves good music’’.
‘‘I’ve been around long enough. I’ve paid my dues. I think I’m now ready to play ball’’
