Organisers Announce Call For Entries Ahead of 2015 Headies


Organisers of the Headies Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious annual music awards, have called for entries ahead of the 2015 edition of the awards holding later in the year.

Event organiser Ayo Animashaun has revealed that entries are now open to audio or visual materials released between July 2014 and June 2015. The Smooth Promotions CEO further stated that all entries are to be submitted online via the awards website www.theheadies.com between Tuesday, August 11 and Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

Aimed at rewarding excellence in the Nigerian music and creative industry, the Headies has built and maintained a reputation as the most recognised awards platform in the country since its inaugural edition in 2006. Speaking about expectations for this year edition, Animashaun stated,

"We have come a long way in celebrating the Nigerian music industry and the outstanding talents that have contributed to the growth we see today. This is the 10th edition of The Headies and so it is a celebration. We are constantly exploring new, exciting and ground-breaking ideas to make this event even bigger than it has become and this edition will be better than last year's edition."

The 2014 edition of the Headies was held at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, December 14, 2014. In attendance were the Who's Who of Nigerian entertainment including Tiwa Savage, Don Jazzy and Davido, Wizkid, Olamide, Darey and Dr. Sid. Others present included actresses Rita Dominic and Dakore Egbuson, PSquare, 2Face, Wande Coal, Ice Prince, Timaya, MI, 9Ice, Timi Dakolo, Cobhams Asuquo, KCee, Burna Boy, Clarence Peters and Sean Tizzle.
