Naija fm 102.7 has been awarded the Best indigenous station
at this year’s Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA)!
The indigenous station which has grown tremendously in less than four years received the accolade at the
recently concluded ceremony which also saw morning show hosts Sabina and Godwin nominated for Popular
Presenter (TV/Radio) in the Male
and Female category. Tope Ojelade of
Naija fm news also toed the line of excellence by being nominated for Newscaster of the year (indigenous).
The rest of the talents at the popular grassroots station were not
left out of the 2013 haul, as afternoon show Work Chop duo, Ajebo and Moyo were earlier in the year awarded “Most outstanding couple - On Air Personality” at the Association
of Voice Over Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA) awards, while funny OAP Ajebo was also nominated at the Nigerian
Entertainment Awards 2013 for “Radio personality of the year”
One half of Naija fm evening show Gra gra express; Osam, went home with the award for Best radio Presenter (Comedy) at the
Gbedu awards ceremony 2013.
And topping off a fine year by every standard, Sabina, fondly called Naija
Pastor, carted away trophies for “radio
programme of the year” (Sunday Best
with Sabina) at the 2013 Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) UK; “Special recognition award” (Sunday Best with Sabina) at the Nigeria
Gospel Music awards (NGMA) and also “Best
on air personality” at the maiden edition of the Crystal Awards 2013!
An excited Sabina had thanked her ardent listeners and colleagues for “a wonderful year” while dedicating her
trophies to “God almighty!”
In her comments, Naija fm programmes Director, Gbemi Olateru –
Olagbegi says “It has been a fantastic
year for Naija fm. Our audience have grown, our hardworking presenters have won
deserving awards…it can only get better in 2014!”
